Refund policy

Return & Refund Policy: Kogobo (formerly Daruma Kokobo)

We have a 30-day return policy, which means you have 30 days after receiving your item to request a return.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.

To start a return, you can contact us at kogoboofficial@gmail.com. Please note that returns will need to be sent to the following address: [INSERT RETURN ADDRESS]

If your return is accepted, we will send you instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.

Global & EU Cooling-off Period (14 Days)

Regardless of where your order is shipped globally (including the European Union, the UK, North America, and Rest of World), you have the right to cancel or request a return for your order within 14 days of delivery, for any reason and without justification.

To exercise this right:

The item must be in the exact condition you received it: unworn, unused, tagged, and in its original packaging.

You must contact us within the 14-day window following delivery.

Return Shipping Costs: Customers are responsible for all international and domestic shipping fees associated with returning the item, as outlined below.

Return Shipping Costs & Customs Fees

Customer Responsibility: Customers are responsible for paying all return shipping costs. Initial outbound shipping costs are non-refundable.

Tracked Shipping Required: Because we deal in one-of-a-kind vintage items, we strongly recommend using a tracked and insured shipping service. Kogobo is not responsible for items lost or damaged in return transit.

International Customs & Taxes: For international returns, please mark the package clearly as "RETURNED GOODS - NO COMMERCIAL VALUE" on the customs form. Any import duties, clearance fees, or taxes incurred by Kogobo due to incorrectly marked packages will be deducted from your final refund amount.

Damaged or Incorrect Items: If you receive a defective or incorrect item, Kogobo will cover the return shipping cost.

Vintage & Handcrafted Characteristics

Our pieces are crafted using rare, upcycled, and vintage Japanese textiles. Please note that natural fading, variations in dye (such as Aizome indigo), minor fraying, and historical mending (such as Sashiko or Boro) are inherent, intentional characteristics of these heritage fabrics. They represent the history of the cloth and are not considered defects or damages.

Damages and Issues

Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, structurally damaged in transit, or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.

Exceptions / Non-Returnable Items

Certain types of items cannot be returned, specifically:

Custom products (such as bespoke sizing, special alterations, or personalized orders).

Clearance / Final Sale items.

Digital or physical gift cards.

Exchanges

The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have, and once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item. You will be responsible for the return shipping cost of the original item.

Refunds

We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 10 business days (minus initial shipping costs and any applicable customs clearance fees). Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.

If more than 15 business days have passed since we’ve approved your return, please contact us at kogoboofficial@gmail.com.
